Hermes Drive privacy policy

This policy describes the personal archive connector named Hermes Drive. The account owner operates it on their own computer and server.

Data accessed

The connector requests Google's drive.file scope. It accesses contents and metadata of files created by, or explicitly authorized for, the application. Metadata may include file names, IDs, sizes, checksums, folder relationships and modification times. It may also read account storage quota information. OAuth credentials are used to maintain authorized access.

Purpose and use

Data is used only to carry out owner-directed archiving, listing, retrieval, integrity verification, organization and deletion. The connector does not automatically publish private files, scan the whole Drive, or read Gmail, calendars or contacts.

Storage and security

Archive files are stored in the owner's Google Drive. Working copies and transfer metadata may also be stored on the owner's computer or server. Credentials are kept in access-restricted local configuration files and transferred between the owner's devices over SSH. Network requests to Google use HTTPS. This does not mean that every archive is independently encrypted before upload; encryption must be configured for any archive that requires it.

Sharing and AI use

Files and credentials are not sold, shared for advertising, or made publicly accessible by this website. Google provides Drive storage and authorization, and the operator's hosting providers process data as required to run the owner's infrastructure. The connector does not use Google user data to train generalized AI models. Any separate AI analysis must be an explicitly owner-directed workflow, not an automatic use of Drive contents by this connector.

Google API data requirements

Hermes Drive's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention, deletion and revocation

Files remain in Drive and in any local working copies or backups until the owner deletes them or applies a retention policy. Deleting one copy does not automatically delete other backups. The owner can delete files in Drive and remove local copies and credentials. You can revoke access in your Google Account; revocation stops future authorized access but does not itself delete existing files or backups.

This public website

This is a static information website. It has no login form, analytics scripts, advertising or file browser. The web host and network security provider may process ordinary request logs, such as IP address, requested URL and timestamp, for delivery and security.
